TIVADAR NEMESI
TIVADAR NEMESI
was born 1956 in Budapest. First he learned graphic design at a specialised secondary school for visual arts and at the same time he took music lessions. Finally he decided for visual arts and studied painting at the Academy of Arts in Budapest. After his diploma he was a master student in architectural art for three years. At this time he started to be actively part of the Hungarian Avantgarde scene, took part in exhibitions and performances, also as a member of the legendary art group INDIGO. During that time he learned photography and worked as a photographer for art books publishers in the field of architecture and reproduction. 1984 he received an award at the international Biennale for photography in Esztergom/Hungary. 1985 he left the eclectic art life in Hungary and moved to, at that time existing, West-Berlin. His graphic and photographic works in Berlin are an indirect play around the fine and mysterious metaphor of light: how silhouettes and shadows can be shown in transformations. Out of this arised a solo programm with diaprojections and music, in which each of the pictures fuse into simple animations. So he was invited to the Theater Festival to Stuttgart in 1995 and therefore founded the shadow theatre group „Fortuna Sol“ with artist colleagues that perfomed with solar energy and live music. The piece was shown in Germany and Hungary. This was followed by different solo exhibitions and coorperations with institutions, amongst others with the Artist Hall Budapest and the Goethe Institut in Budapest. Since 2008 he has worked with the sounds of the instrument Hang in different art projects and partly also in_complementary medicin in modern healing practice. In 2012 he composed the film score for the film „Das Ding am Deich“, which received the Max Ophüls festival award in Saarbrücken. Numerous performances and CD recordings show his work as founder, composer, and Hang player for different ensembles and projects with music and projections and sometimes also with dance. He has three daughters, lives and works in different areas of arts and photography in Berlin. |
